The two-hour Bank & Entrepreneur Photography Masterclass with Marc Goldberg held as scheduled on February 27, 2024.

It was an incredible success, with expert instructor Marc sharing his deep experience as a successful photographer, and the moving swiftly to real-life critiques of 26 photographs (below), taken by some of the 39 masterclass participants.

Everything was up for discussion – lighting, angles, noise, ordinary-can-be-extraordinary, exposure, passive income, copyright, watermarks, dynamism, pricing, software, accessories, customer retention, value, and reputation.

Goldberg described the earning opportunities for even basic photographers as a goldmine, considering the subject matters – landscapes, people, culture – that are uniquely African, which cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

In the realm of visual storytelling, photography serves as a powerful medium, capturing moments that unfold the narratives of everyday lives. The primary purpose of the masterclass is to provide participants with a deep-enough understanding of the art and science of photography, guiding them through techniques, conceptual frameworks and hands-on practice – with which they become equipped to produce a portfolio for professional, entrepreneurial endeavours.

ABOUT

The Bank & Entrepreneur (B&E) masterclass series were created under its #ItsToughEnough campaign, which seeks to transfer skills from high-level experts across the world to Africa’s budding entrepreneurs, so that the latter are ignited, amidst tough conditions, to start a business, or enhance an existing one. The goal is to spark an entrepreneurial boom across the African continent.
