What does Tom Cruise ‐ as well as Brad Pitt, Nicole Kidman, David Bowie, Iman, Giorgio Armani, Donna Karan, Princess Caroline of Monaco, Hugh Jackman, Naomi Watts, and Amelia Windsor (a member of the British royal family)  –  have to do with the June 2025 edition of Bank & Entrepreneur (B & E) Africa?
—
Mr. Cruise and so many other high-profile persons have all been hosted by Meryanne Loum-Martin – B & E’s Cover person, and founder of luxury boutique hotel Dar Tamsna, which has evolved into today’s larger property, named Jnane Tamsna.

–
In an opening editorial titled “WHEN EXCELLENCE SEEKS ITS KIND”, we surmise that Tom Cruise’s choice of Dar Tamsna as a retreat was not coincidence, but an alignment.  Here was a place that matched his uncompromising standards: excellence or nothing.
–
Guided by seven sharp questions from our readers, we were asked to decode Meryanne Loum-Martin’s entrepreneurial success. How on earth did she, alone and undeterred, attract such high-value clients, and become the first black person (and female) to build and sustain a world-class luxury boutique hotel in foreign territory (Morocco)?

They wanted the raw truth – the idea, the setbacks, the triumphs, the audacity, and the strategies that made it all possible.
—
Ms. Loum-Martin answered, with candour and clarity.
—
Read or download the June 2025 issue of Bank & Entrepreneur Africa (the Iconic Entrepreneur edition). It offers an immersive look at Meryanne’s entrepreneurial trajectory, her vision, and the enduring legacy she continues to craft in hospitality, design, and cultural diplomacy.
—
PS: A little trivia – it took FOUR attempts for Tom Cruise to finally get a reservation at Dar Tamsna.
