In December 2023, Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Christophe Bazivamo, had assured Nigerians that Rwanda presented a conducive environment for investment, with business registrations enabled online, clear laws in place for protecting small and big companies, and visa free travel available to Africans for boosting the movement of people and trade.

Farmer Samson Ogbole (Founder, Soilless Farm Lab – technology enablers for greenhouse, soilless agriculture) seems to be taking Bazivamo’s word for it, as his business prepares to venture into Rwanda.

Ogbole affirms:

As we prepare for the opening of Soilless Farm Lab Rwanda, our team had a meeting with the Rwanda High Commission in Nigeria to discuss our project in Rwanda and harnessing local partnerships in the country for our operations in Rwanda.

Our cross-border expansion has begun.

Soilless Farm Lab has shown an excellent track record of deploying protected technology (commonly called greenhouse farming) with soilless farming technology (hydroponics and aquaponics) for the growing of crops. In addition, the Farm makes use of Artificial Intelligence in its irrigation techniques in order to achieve precision-based farming.

Soilless Farm Lab recently hosted Hon. Bolu Owotomo (Commissioner for Agriculture & Food Security, Ogun state) who visited the greenhouses built by students of the Farm’s ‘Enterprise for Youth in Agriculture’ (EYiA) Cohort 6

“We believe the process of food production must be such that it is healthy for the farmer, healthy for the consumer and healthy for the environment”, says Soilless Farm Lab.
