Our very first story points to 23-year-old Togolese track and field runner, Naomi Akakpo, whose sheer grit has earned her the great honour of representing Togo at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games this summer!

More than a dream come true, it’s my purpose that comes to life, what I work so hard for every day, why I’ve been making so many sacrifices for years.
My goal is to beat my personal best and give the best possible impression against the world’s elite. I’m going to give 200% at the Stade de France, a few kilometres from the stadium where I started athletics 13 years ago.
But I’m going to Paris for two other equally important objectives, if not more:
1. To promote Togo, its culture and its people internationally, to show that our country exists and is full of talent.
2. To inspire young girls in Togo, Africa and France to take up sport, to flourish in practice and to use it to become the leaders of tomorrow. Because I am convinced that the future will depend on strong, confident and committed women.
