An old train has been transformed into an incredible luxury hotel, located in Skukuza within Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s largest game reserves and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Kruger Shalati: The Train on the Bridge is an elevated personal sanctuary – a hotel set aboard a newly refurbished train, and perfectly combining Africa’s most breathtaking natural splendours with well-deserved luxuries.

Permanently stationed on the historically-rich Selati Bridge (above the Sabie River), Kruger Shalati offers unique luxury accommodation within a creatively re-modeled train. The hotel offers 31 rooms, consisting of 24 Train Carriage Suites and 7 Bridge House Suites, boasting an impressive viewing deck complete with a beautiful overhanging pool that overlooks River Sabie.

The accommodation marries luxury with an intimate view of wildlife, including sightings of Africa’s “Big Five” — lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos.
