Wife of the Kebbi State governor, Zainab-Nasare Idris, has given a N10 million donation to the Association of Kebbi Women Entrepreneurs to boost their various businesses.
She presented the support at the closing ceremony of a two-day Ramadan Funfair organised by the Association at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi, the State capital.
At the fair, which drew participants from across Nigeria’s North-Western states, the governor’s wife asserted that the gesture is intended to support women in being financially independent through versatile trade, as well as becoming employers of labour.
Convener of the Fair, Hajiya Maryam Bello-Bala, said the objective of the programme was to provide a platform for women to showcase their trade talents and to encourage their active participation in business.
