On March 01, 2024, businessman and Chairman of the Cubana Group, Obinna Iyiegbu launched an electric car-hailing service in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, under the brand name Enviable Transport.

Latching onto the promise that the new service would bridge an existing gap in urban transportation, Abuja residents have taken to the electric vehicle (EV) fleet on offer by Enviable Transport.

Iyiegbu is known for his shrewdness, and is relentless in pursuing his vision of electric vehicles being the next big thing for affordable and secure ride-hailing and car subscriptions.

The world over, the mobility services sector (including ride-hailing, car sharing, car leasing and car subscriptions), is being disrupted by battery-powered cars.  EVs are stimulating the entrance of sustainability-focused newcomers into the mobility services industry, and these new, innovative, and EV-focused business models are helping to get more drivers and riders into EVs.

Enviable Transport has partnered with CIG Motors for the initial supply of its Wuling EV Nigeria fleet of 100 hybrid electric cars.
