Empowering yuth through Agriculture: IfeOluwa Oyeyemi on the job

Top LinkedIn post by Sustainable Food Champion | Fruit Farming Expert | Agrodealer Specialist, IfeOluwa Oyeyemi (Founder, FarmHelp Agribusiness):

From a young age, I always had a deep desire to help others achieve their dreams while working towards mine. Little did I know that agriculture would be the avenue through which this passion would flourish.

As a teenager, my father entrusted us with small parcels of land for petty farming. I chose to plant vegetables, selling them outside our home to earn money, all while dreaming of studying medicine. However, fate had a different plan. I found myself at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, where I studied Animal Nutrition and Biotechnology. Agriculture wasn’t initially my dream career, but life has a way of guiding us toward our true calling.

After graduating, I was posted to a farm in Epe, Lagos State, for my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). This experience opened my eyes to the vast opportunities within agriculture. It was more than just hard work; it was a field ripe with innovation, profitability, and potential. I watched in awe as we planted 20,000 vegetables weekly and never lacked buyers. My perspective changed when I planted six sachets of cucumber seeds and harvested over 100 bags. My love for agriculture grew, and I realized this was where I was meant to be.

In my journey, I am committed to helping young people find their path and passion, just as I found mine. Through our farm hub at FarmHelp Agribusiness, we welcome student interns, and I am especially thrilled to work with students from my alma mater recently, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, where I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.

Agriculture has given me more than just a career—it has given me a purpose. It’s a journey of growth, learning, and helping others achieve their dreams. Together, we can cultivate a future where passion and purpose thrive. Anticipate my post our update empowering youth through the hub.

I remain, IfeOluwa Oyeyemi, your agro friend.
