Julius Oni, M.D., until very recently, worked at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (USA), where he specialised in hip and knee replacement, particularly minimally invasive joint replacement surgery and complex primary and revision joint replacements.

After 25 years in the U.S., he made the bold decision to return to Nigeria, and a few weeks ago, he shared a widely popular video announcing his move.

Dr. Julius K. Oni (Founder, DOC Medical Nigeria)

Soon after arriving Nigeria, Dr. Oni – who operated on an impressed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu earlier this year – officially opened the doors to his practice, DOC Medical Nigeria, a state-of-the-art facility that provides world-class musculoskeletal care, particularly for patients in need of joint replacement surgery.

DOC Medical Nigeria is located in Lagos, and is not only equipped with the latest medical technology, but also staffed by highly trained professionals, many of whom have received specialized training at home and abroad.

Since opening, DOC Medical Nigeria has successfully performed numerous surgeries, attracting patients from across Nigeria, Ghana, and the U.K. seeking treatment. Dr. Oni is also giving back by holding free medical clinics that benefit underserved communities.

Says Oni:

Each milestone brings me closer to my ultimate goal: providing high-quality musculoskeletal care right here in Nigeria.
