Every holiday season, ever-roaming Africans have asked us (Bank & Entrepreneur Africa) to do a piece on gastronomy. Their question is simple: ‘Where exactly can we find African food vendors when we travel across the UK and the US?’

And so we have chosen to start with Atlanta (USA). Why?

Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) holds the distinction of being the busiest airport in the world, linking 150+ destinations and major hubs like New York City and London (United Kingdom). Many of these passengers are Africans, searching for soul food while away from home.

Our Special Report on 50 African Foodpreneurs will provide distinct coverage of enterprises in the Atlanta metro area – ranging from everyday take-away, to fine dining.

What’s inside?

This essential resource for Africans and non-Africans alike will feature:

  • Two impressive African chefs straddling the culinary scene – Chef Mick ÉlysĂ©e and Chef Gracia Bvute;
  • Strategic marketing tips for the Food & Beverage sector: “Guerrilla marketing!” (by the Editor-in-Chief, Anne Ngozi Agbakoba);
  • Video wall of gastronomy: Compelling 30-second video clips, personally shot by the 50 featured Foodpreneurs to show the unique personality of each business owner;
  • Photo wall of gastronomy: Brief back stories on all the Foodpreneurs, where they share their personal experiences about:
    • Humble beginnings: getting that bright business idea;
    • Starting a business in a foreign country;
    • Financing business + government regulations;
    • Differentiation from competitors; and
    • Hurdles and breakthroughs in the entrepreneurial journey
