Tolulope Olamide Ajayi

Prolific film director and TV Producer, Tolulope Olamide Ajayi is set to premiere his first-time feature ‘Over the Bridge’ on October 18, 2023 – in the UK.

Set in Lagos-Nigeria, Over the Bridge trails investment banker Folarin (Ozzy Agu) who is mired in secrets. Plagued by an alcohol problem and intermittent panic attacks, his life is turned upside down when his ethics are compromised over a controversial rail construction project.

In Ajayi’s words: “In this gripping, redemptive tale, we see a man teetering over the edge as he grapples with his conscience. Lead actor, Ozzy Agu, delivers a compelling performance as a man struggling with his inner demons, unable to find a way out, laying corporate masculinity bare. Segilola Ogidan plays his long-suffering society wife Jumoke, with grace and fortitude.”

Over the Bridge also features Nollywood heavyweights, Joke Silva and Deyemi Okanlawon.

Ajayi adds: “Visually, audiences are treated to glimpses of Lagos life as rarely seen on the big screen. Cinematographer KC Obiajulu exceeds himself with accomplished artistic flourishes that give the film a distinct character”.

Tolulope Olamide Ajayi is gifted. His award winning films and produced TV shows have earned critical acclaim in film festivals and agency award competitions in Nigeria and internationally. His first and widely acclaimed short film ‘Blink’ was shortlisted for the Signes De Nuit film festival in Paris, featured on IndieWire and AFRIFF 2014. ‘Closed’, another short film directed by Ajayi won the Bronze prize at the Loeries 2018, and Gold at the Pitcher Awards, West Africa. He is busy telling African stories and creating branded content for leading brands across Africa.
