Congratulations are in order to the Top 10 startups who have made it to the finals of the Latitude59 Pitch Competition in Kenya! This year’s competition broke records, with a total of 382 applications from 37 countries, and here are the 10 leading startups:

🇳🇬 AcemyX: an LMS helping students prepare for exams with personalized learning tools and study materials.

🇹🇿Afya Mama: providing answers to questions pertaining maternal care and reproductive health to women via SMS and web app.

🇰🇪 Eco Nasi: transforming pineapple pulp waste into high-quality vegan leather that is 5 times more durable than hide leather.

🇰🇪 Grekkon Limited-Irrigation Hub: scaling up moisture sensors for smallholder farmers to remove water wastage or insufficient water in irrigation.

🇰🇪 NoMa: a tech platform that digitises school transportation.

Latitude59 2024: Nigeria’s AcemyX (founded by Abdur-Rahman Adekunle Adeniji) is in the Top 10


🇺🇸 Paycloud Africa: building a Neobank to help MSMEs in Africa to pay, get paid, and access credit through payment aggregation.

🇰🇪 Roadrims Logistics: providing reliable, efficient, and cost-effective logistics that meet diverse supply chain needs.

🇰🇪 Twiva: a Social Commerce platform helping brands gain access to markets by marketing and selling through influencers.

🇰🇪 VunaPay: providing instant payments to farmers as they deliver their produce, saving them from delayed payments.

🇰🇪 Zerobionic: developing a human-like robotic arm to help students with hearing impairments in Kenyan high schools.

The prize pool includes an invitation to Latitude59 2025 next Spring in Tallinn, Estonia, where one finalist will have the chance to compete for prize pool of up to 1million Euros.

Said Dolores Daniel, project manager at Latitude59 Kenya:

While fintech once dominated the landscape, this year’s pitch competition applications reveal an inspiring wave of innovation in agritech and sustainability. It’s clear that founders are increasingly prioritising impact-driven solutions to tackle food security, climate resilience, and sustainable resource management—reshaping Kenya’s entrepreneurial narrative
