On Thursday 29th February 2024, the Girls Talk Corporation (founded by Vanessa Chiedza Sanyauke) held its first event of the year – titled Berlin Tech Horizon: What skills matter to employers? – in Berlin, Germany.

In partnership with Color in Recruitment (founded by Chido Therisa Nyandoro) and Factory Berlin, an open panel discussion was had, with some of Berlin’s top tech recruiters sharing their insights on what is on the horizon in tech for 2024 and what skills leading employers are looking for.

On the panel were:
Casimir Udegbunam: Talent Acquisition Partner – Tech at Zalando
Onweni Princess Ashinze: Talent Acquisition Manager at Shiftmove
Vongai Laura Makotore: Talent Acquisition Specialist at Numa
Angela Ndagire : Senior Embedded Recruitment Lead at Acelr8

Says Vanessa: “We understand that our community may be anxious about the continuous tech layoffs happening in Tech. The sector remains competitive and challenging to access and excel for women. Employers are looking for candidates who demonstrate the skills of the future so we want to share with you insights on how you can up-skill in the right areas to secure your next opportunity in tech”.
