Nigeria’s Enugu State government has just signed a multi-million dollar joint venture agreement with the Del-York Group to construct ‘The 042 Arena and Entertainment Park’ – a multi-purpose sports and entertainment hub designed to focus on key areas of development, training, innovation, education, talent discovery, hospitality, entertainment among other areas of interest.

On completion, the sports arena will reportedly house the following facilities: training space, athlete housing, a physical therapy and sports medicine centre, and a performance centre, among.

The entertainment park will house facilities such as screening rooms, stages, amphitheatres, and live, work and play facilities.

Addressing the governor and other key stakeholders, Linus Idahosa (CEO, Del-York), said Enugu State was considered strategic for the launch of the project for various reasons, including its tourist attractions, the efforts of the state government in fostering growth and development of sports and entertainment industries in the south-east zone which had already received global recognition.

2023: The Del-York & Lagos State launch of Kebulania Lagos Film City

This latest venture comes close on the heels of a Del-York partnership with the Lagos State government in October 2023, which saw the launch of ‘Kebulania Lagos Film City’ – a state-of-the-art film city project in Epe, estimated to cost US$100 million. Speaking at the Lagos launch, the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had said the initiative was aimed at reshaping the African film and entertainment industry.
