The community of Epe has welcomed its first technology hub following the opening of Haut Hub, a facility designed to train young people in digital skills (Design, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and more) and provide workspaces for entrepreneurs.
Throwing open its doors in April 2025, the hub was co-founded by Ibrahim Salami and his business partner Abdulraheem Abdulsobur, a product designer who has worked with companies in Nigeria, the United States, and Saudi Arabia.
Abdulsobur, who is originally from Epe, said he was motivated to set up the centre after noticing that many residents were unfamiliar with technology careers and the financial prospects it could bring . According to him:
People often assumed my success was linked to fraud because they did not understand what opportunities exist in technology. This project is about showing young people what is possible.
Haut Hub builds on the work of the Haut brand, which has been offering online training since 2022 and has trained more than 2,000 people, many of whom have gone on to secure jobs locally and internationally.
The new hub currently houses:
- A training centre for digital skills such as cybersecurity, product design, data analytics and web development
- A co-working space for professionals and entrepreneurs
- A content creation studio, now being developed
Since starting operations in July, Haut Hub has hosted masterclasses and training sessions for children, run two learning cohorts with a third ongoing, and appointed 10 campus ambassadors across five higher institutions in Epe.
The founders say the project is still in its pilot phase but plan to expand gradually. They are also inviting partnerships with organisations and institutions to strengthen opportunities for young people in the area.
