On August 15, the FATE Foundation – a non-profit private-sector led organisation created in March 2000 to tackle the high rate of unemployment and poverty in Nigeria – hosted the 70th birthday celebration of its Founder and Chairman, Fola Adeola, who had reached the milestone earlier in the year.

FATE was pleased to have some of its Board members, directors, alumni, volunteers, entrepreneurs, fellows, alumni Excos, family members of the celebrants at the event.

In a tribute to its Founder, FATE foundation shared:

Happy 70th birthday to our incredible and dynamic Founder and Chairman, Mr Fola Adeola, OFR;mni.

Your leadership and passion set the founding vision and the foundation for all our milestones, impact and successes to date. You have and continue to exemplify true dedication and commitment to the values of enterprise, service, professionalism, integrity and excellence.

Your wisdom grows stronger each year, guiding us through challenges with focus and determination.

Your vision 24 years ago started a powerful movement – nurturing dreams, fostering innovation, creating jobs, enabling entrepreneurship, fostering wealth creation and accelerating the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Nigeria and beyond.

Since inception, the Foundation has harnessed the strong entrepreneurial culture of Nigerians (especially the youth segment) by providing the knowledge and support required to fully explore their innovative potential.

Says FATE:

Our belief is that enabling sustainable entrepreneurship initiatives is the foundation required to achieve our potentials as a country and also sustainably address key socio-economic challenges.
