Here are six African startups turning waste into climate solutions, boosting economies and tackling pollution! ♻️

Genesis Ehimegbe, Yaya Kone (Co-Founders, Coliba)


✅ COLIBA (Ivory Coast) – Turning plastic waste into reusable granules for industry. With $6 million raised by March 2024 and a target of $11.5 million, Coliba is making strides in the circular economy.

Kidus Asfaw (Founder & CEO, Kubik)

✅ Kubik (Ethiopia) – Recycles plastics into low-CO2 bricks, making building materials cheaper and greener.

Sand to Green Co-Founders

✅ Sand to Green (Kenya) – Transforms deserts into cultivable lands using agroforestry and solar-powered desalination to create climate-smart regenerative farms

✅ PEGAfrica (Ghana, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Mali) – With solar systems for over a million West African customers, PEG Africa, now part of Bboxx, is tackling energy access while reducing emissions.

Kate Kallot (Founder & CEO, Amini)

✅ Amini (Kenya) – Uses AI and satellite data to help African farmers with sustainable, climate-friendly agriculture.

Louise, Noël (Co-Founders, Lono)

✅ LONO (Ivory Coast) – Their Kubeko System converts farm waste into compost and gas, providing farmers with added income.

These startups are transforming waste and powering a green economy.
